However, I do think it’s the best the series has ever looked and I absolutely love the creation gimmick of the game (just wish the crystals weren’t so expensive) and the fact they made villains playable as Senseis. Also, shame on Activision for how they rolled out the final figure releases and basically just tossed out a limited stock despite being figures needed to unlock levels. Neo Cortex Senseis as opposed to regular Skylanders, hate that they made previous Skylanders figures weak so you are really locked to playing as the Sensei if you don’t want your character getting knocked out often, and hate that the story requires side missions to progress the story. I hate that they made Crash Bandicoot/Dr. The game itself is a disappointing end and not just because the story is the same old nonsense. I missed putting these damn figurines on the portal and seeing them “come to life”.Īnyways, it’s a shame the only way to unlock further levels is by getting figures which, now that the series is done, doesn’t seem like it’s possible without shelling out some serious coin (Wild Storm unlocks the Cursed Tiki Level and even used he is over $100!?). Despite being bloated and much closer in tone and execution to the Netflix show Skylanders Academy, I’m actually enjoying myself. So I’ve been trying to tackle my backlog before the new year and I’ve picked up Skylanders: Imaginators again.
